About Jenny

My name is Jenny LeBlanc, current ARC Liaison on the board. My term ran out so I have been standing in until we could have an election. I would love to serve another term if you guys would have me. My husband, Jeff Sandlin, and I own lot 29. We plan to build our dream home in the coming years, along with a beautiful set of stairs to the water. Some of you may remember me from our February meeting. I presented a slide deck showing all the work we've done to make our community more attractive to buyers, and I truly think our efforts have worked! All of the property values had tanked since they were originally sold, and we only had 2 houses when we started our process of relaxing the arc guidelines. We had been told by several realtors that the guidelines were the issue with people backing out of lot purchases in highland shores. We went to work taking out all the needless, overreaching rules that were originally in our guidelines, and since then we have seen many properties sold to new owners who are currently or are planning on building homes and becoming part of a real community, which I think is super exciting! The board also decided to do a lot of work to the boat launch and it looks so much better and more functional now. Special thanks to Tony for clearing out that old, dilapidated deck in the common area! That thing was a safety hazard for sure. As far as community, I think all the current board members share the same vision of a being part of a safe, close knit community that everyone will want to be a part of! As far as my personal life, I am a forester working in forest research, mostly in Mississippi and Alabama but occasionally in Louisiana. My husband owns Sandco fabrication here on the lake, building beautiful boat docks, stunning sets of stairs, and more! We have 2 kids in their 20's and a grandbaby on the way Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to know more about the work we've been doing. I've also attached the previously mentioned slide deck if you would like to look it over, but keep in mind that we have had a lot more activity since this slide deck was made. In fact, we only have one more waterfront property that has not sold! We appreciate your patience with these elections. We've been trying to get them going for a while but kept running into issues, so I am very excited to finally be voting so the board can continue working for this community.
